Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the RentPlus platform, websites and mobile applications (“RentPlus”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms.

1. The service

RentPlus is property management software: tools for managing properties, units, tenants, leases, rent collection, accounting, expenses, maintenance, inspections, visitors and documents. We provide the software; you remain responsible for your properties, your tenancies and your legal obligations as a landlord, agent or estate.

2. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information when creating a workspace.
  • You are responsible for the actions of users you invite and the permissions you grant them.
  • Keep credentials secure. We strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication.

3. Subscriptions and billing

  • Plans are billed per unit per month, as published on our pricing page.
  • Fees are payable in Kenya Shillings, VAT inclusive unless stated otherwise.
  • You may upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time; changes are prorated where applicable.
  • We never take a percentage of rent collected through the platform.

4. Payments between you and your tenants

Rent flows directly between tenants and your own M-Pesa Paybill or accounts. RentPlus records and reconciles those payments but is not a party to them, does not hold your rent, and is not a payment service provider. M-Pesa services are provided by Safaricom under their terms.

5. Your data and your tenants’ data

  • Your data remains yours. You can export it at any time.
  • You are responsible for having a lawful basis to process the tenant, visitor and signer data you manage through the platform.
  • We process that data on your behalf as described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the platform for unlawful purposes
  • Attempt to breach, probe or overload our systems
  • Misrepresent identity or forge records
  • Resell or sublicense the platform without our written agreement

7. Electronic signatures

The platform provides electronic signing with identity verification and audit trails. You are responsible for ensuring your documents and signing processes meet the legal requirements applicable to your transactions, and for obtaining legal advice on your lease wording.

8. Availability and support

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We will communicate planned maintenance in advance where practicable. Support is provided through the channels listed on our contact page.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability arising from or related to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for disputes between you and your tenants, owners, visitors or staff.

10. Termination

You may cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with notice where reasonable. On termination you may export your data for a reasonable period before deletion.

11. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be notified through the platform or by email before they take effect.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Kenyan courts.
